Veselí nad Moravou lies in the fertile lowlands of the Moravian Slovácko region bordered on the southeast by the White Carpathians, fields and floodplain forests in the west and Chřiby in the northern horizon.

In 2020, the public lighting was reconstructed, and there are about 1,500 light points available to illuminate the city. The light points are largely equipped with energy-saving LED luminaires with the possibility of power regulation. The luminaires are placed on 4-8 m high poles. Monuments and historical buildings are illuminated by ground lights. The power supply to the luminaires is provided by 36 switchboards. At Christmas and New Year’s time, they illuminate the city with festive lighting.
